What will NOT change in the next 10 years?
On the plane to Las Vegas for CES I read an interesting quote from Jeff Bezos:
I very frequently get the question: 'What's going to change in the next 10 years?' ... I almost never get the question: 'What's NOT going to change in the next 10 years?' And I submit to you that that second question is actually the more important of the two.
Good point, Jeff. Gooooooood point.
Since I was on my way to CES, I naturally thought, this was a great opportunity for me to ask this very question to tech experts. From Bosch to Panasonic and IBM, to entrepreneurs and tech influencers, the common theme to this answer was human interaction, communication, and experience.
Evan Kirstel, a tech thought leader and mega social influencer, pointedly stated:
Despite all of the hype around bots and AI, the value of human to human interaction will be more important than ever.
Answering this question in just one word - “Storytelling” - Patrick Charlton, CEO and Co-Founder of Buzz Radar, a social intelligence platform, pointed out the increasing necessity for brands and consumers to access authenticity and genuineness through social sharing and engagement.
Cloud expert, Sarbjeet Johal, succinctly noted “human experience.”
Annett Fischer from Bosch, Shandell King from Panasonic, Kevin Roche from IBM, and tech journalist and thought leader Jim Harris, all highlighted the ever-increasing demand for simplicity and convenience - the need for people to experience life with more ease and less friction.
To add my own answer, I would say “relationships.” Having spent the last 3 years building B2B influencer marketing programs in a rapidly changing tech environment, the one constant is the importance of building diverse relationships to learn from one another, challenge one another, help each other, and importantly, cross-pollinate and grow our networks to keep the cycle of human interaction charging in an increasingly digital world.
